WHAT IS VOLUNTEEN?

VolunTeen is a free, weeklong summer program open to students entering grades 7–12 in the River East Transcona School Division. This exciting opportunity allows students to gain valuable experience in community involvement, leadership, teamwork, and job skills through a variety of volunteer placements across Winnipeg.

Participants will volunteer with a variety of local organizations—such as Manitoba Harvest, Siloam Mission, Bethania Personal Care Home, and more—gaining hands-on experience in different settings. In addition to indoor placements, students will also spend time outdoors giving back to the community through activities like helping clean and care for local parks.

On days with half-day placements, the fun continues at the school with games, team-building challenges, and other interactive activities. Throughout the week, students will build meaningful connections with peers and staff, all while making a positive impact on their community.

At the end of the program, each participant will receive a Certificate of Participation, along with new skills, experiences, and memories to take with them—and to proudly include on their resumes.
